Help Families Start Kindergarten With Confidence

Build a strong relationship with families before the first day of school. The Off to a Good Start Meeting Resource Kit helps you plan a welcoming kindergarten roundup and give families practical ways to prepare their children and help them succeed all year long.

Give Families Clear Next Steps

Use the professionally narrated video presentation for an effective family meeting with no work on your part—or do it yourself with the informative PowerPoint presentation and suggested script that are also provided. Ready-to-use planning and publicity materials reduce staff preparation time.

You'll also receive program profiles of successful strategies that are working well in schools across the country, including first-day activities, meet-the-teacher events, curriculum nights, conferences and family resource centers. Each program profile includes step-by-step, how-to ideas for adapting it to your own school or district needs.

Families can use Kit resources to create routines, reduce uncertainty and help children arrive ready to learn.
